What is Listmaker?

Listmaker is a simple list manager for the iPhone and iPod touch that synchronizes to the web. Use Listmaker to store todo lists, grocery lists, travel checklists, or gift ideas and share those lists with other Listmaker users by synchronizing them to the web. When used to store reference lists, Listmaker is the perfect complement to your usual GTD system.

Why use Listmaker?

Listmaker Is Lightweight

Listmaker is meant to be simple and fast. List items hold a title, due date, and a field for notes -- and that's it. All the clutter has been eliminated making it quick to reference the information you need.

Synchronize Lists to the Web

Listmaker will optionally synchronize over the air with your Toodledo account. (Creating an account with Toodledo is free.) Through Toodledo, the lists that you enter into Listmaker can be viewed, modified, completed and shared with others. And if you prefer to enter your tasks using a full keyboard and your computer, lists entered into Toodledo can be synchronized back to Listmaker so that they are always at your fingertips. (Note that if you use Toodledo for regular task management, it is recommended that you use a separate, free, Toodledo account to synchronize with Listmaker.)

Organize Lists into Sub-Lists

Listmaker allows you to create sub-lists. Use a sub-list whenever it is convenient to divide a list into smaller logical units. A sub-list appears as a child of its parent, and there is no limit on how many levels of sub-lists can be used.

Search Your Lists

Do you have a list item that you know exists, but you're not sure which list it's in? Search for it! A search bar is available in every list. Just scroll all the way to the top of a list to reveal it.

Landscape and Portrait Mode Supported

Turn your iPhone to enjoy landscape mode which better displays long titles, and enter your lists using a larger landscape mode keyboard. Or if you prefer, you can lock Listmaker into portrait mode for more convenient one handed use.

Email Lists to Others

Share entire lists or individual list items with others via email. And there's no need to put away your lists to do it — an email client opens within Action Lists. After your email has been sent you can return to where you left off.

Assign Due Dates

You can use Listmaker as a simple todo list by assigning a due date to a list item. Due dates are visible in your lists so that you are reminded of your commitments. If an item becomes overdue, Listmaker brings it to your attention by displaying the due date of the list item in red and turning item count badges red for the list that contains the overdue item.

Sort Lists Your Way

Lists in Listmaker can be individually sorted. You can sort your gift list alphabetically, your todo list sorted by due date, and your grocery list sorted manually — or any other way you want.

Attach Notes to List Items

Text notes can be attached to list items. Notes allow you to give additional reminders about the list item, or to jot down related ideas as they occur to you. Email addresses, web addresses, and telephone numbers in these notes are displayed as hyperlinks that can be clicked to open Mail, Safari, or the Phone as appropriate.

Can I Run Listmaker?

To use Listmaker, you need an iPhone or iPod Touch running iPhone OS version 3.1 or later. You can install Listmaker by downloading it from the App Store.
