Installation

There are three different methods of installing Harmonium. Read the descriptions below and choose the installation method that best suits your hardware and goals.

Platform Independent

The platform independent distribution of Harmonium should run on any system that has an installed Java Runtime Environment. This distribution is especially suited for testing out Harmonium, or for configuations that aren't supported by other distributions. Windows Service

The Windows Service distribution installs Harmonium as a service on a computer running Microsoft Windows. Installing Harmonium as a service will cause the computer to start Harmonium automatically each time it is booted. Linux Daemon

The Linux Daemon distribution of Harmonium installs Harmonium as a daemon on a computer running Linux. Installing Harmonium as a daemon will cause the computer to start Harmonium automatically each time it is booted. Upgrading

If you already have Harmonium installed and want to upgrade to the newest version, there are upgrade instructions available for plaform independent installations, Windows Service installations, and Linux Daemon installations.

Uninstalling

If you choose to uninstall Harmonium, you can choose from the uninstallation instructions that are available for platform independent installation, Windows Service installations, and Linux Daemon installations.

Using Harmonium

Once Harmonium has been started on your computer, there's not much too it: browse and play music. There are a few remote control keys that might be useful, though.
