Stuff from 2.2.0

Stuff from 2.2.0

Postby Houston88 » Mon Dec 21, 2009 6:40 pm

The latest version is the best yet. There are some small things that could be improved though. (Isn't that always the case?)

Search in landscape view is a little weird. It fixes itself if I activate and then deactivate it, but it looks sort of garbled otherwise.

Also, landscape date setting is good, but it doesn't show the day of the week like portrait view does.

I know I've mentioned this before, but It would really be sweet if the status would automatically switch to "Next Action" from the inbox when I change the context. Sometimes I'll have a dozen random ideas that I tap into the inbox. (using your sweet quick add button) I will then want to process them, by changing their context and then changing their status. I rarely ever change a tasks context in the inbox without also making it a "Next Action". If this were automatic I could save two taps per task, and dramatically decrease my processing time. (I know, I'm the "speed guy", but hey, every tap counts!) Granted, you would only want this function to work from the inbox, and only if the option is turned on in the settings. The setting should be "Off" by default so as not to confuse people. Give it a though. I am holding Mac OS X in my hand, do I have to tell it to do something that it can be almost sure that I'll do anyway?

Cheers, thanks for the great product.

Thanks for the kind words.

Can you tell me what you're doing when it looks weird, and in what way it looks weird? I'm concerned about this one, because I can't seem to make it do anything other than what I expect. So either we have different ideas of how it should look, or I'm not doing the same thing you're doing. Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah, I know. It's the price we pay for a landscape mode. There's just no way to squeeze in a textbox like in portrait mode. There's not enough vertical room.

This one is already on my list.

Thanks!

Hmmm. You're right. You may want to try pushing the date selecter dials to the right, and then putting a single "day of week" indicator text box just to the left.

To replicate the issue, open Action lists, rotate to landscape, and then while still in landscape switch to another section. (eg inbox to waiting) Then pull down the search bar.

Got it. Thanks, that's definitely a bug. I'll get it taken care of.

Thanks. Also, when creating notes in tasks. I think that the mode should be "edit" by default, instead of having us select it. Once some text is in the note, the current behavior is fine.

Merry Christmas.

Yeah I realized that after using it for a while too. It's already on my list. Thanks, and have a Merry Christmas.
