Agendas and/or tags

Agendas and/or tags

Postby herbert.miller » Thu Dec 31, 2009 2:24 pm

One item that seems to be missing, unless I'm just not seeing it, is the ability to put something on an agenda for a person. Many other apps do this through tags. So, I can make a "next action" and then tag it with Lisa or Kathry. Then when I see them I can easily look up any tags with their name.

And even more elegant GTD solution which I haven't seen any other apps doe would be to have an "Agenda" as one of the main categories in the bottom list.

Agendas are a very important part of GTD and need to be handled in some way

You're right that Action Lists does not support tags, and your suggestion for an "Agendas" tag is an interesting one. I handle agendas by creating a context for them. For instance, I have a context titled with my wife's name, and a context for each committee that I am a member of. I hope that helps.

Hi - I have an Agendas context and I use Emoji icons to indicate who I need to talk to. What I do is prefix the task description with the icon for the particular person ie the one for my wife have a big red heart :)

I then use the search function to filter the Agenda context by the icon and I see all the items that I need to talk to that paricular person about. It's simple and it works.

If you have a large number of people to talk to you could just use their initials as the prefix for the task. The search function will work the same way.

These icons also work if they are placed in the notes field so I also use them in my Errands context to filter what I have to do ie bank, supermarket etc

Cheers,
Andrew

I currently include the name of the person in the beginning of the task. It does the trick.
